Several popular iOS apps experienced crashes on Friday morning, including Spotify, Waze, Tinder and Pinterest. Problems persisted for roughly two hours, though the iOS apps appear to be working again.

Multiple members of the CNET team experienced crashes with the Spotify app on iOS, and the Waze app also crashed for me. There were also reports on social media of issues with Pinterest, Tinder and some other iOS apps. Outage monitoring site Down detector noted spikes in reported problems with a handful of popular apps on Friday morning, including Spotify, Waze, Pinterest and Viber.

The issue doesn't appear to have impacted Android version of the apps.

Spotify acknowledged the problem on Twitter. "We're aware of some issues right now and are checking them out! We'll keep you posted," the company tweeted Friday. The streaming service gave the all clear just after 6 a.m. PT.

While it's unclear exactly what caused the problem, some reports suggested it could have to do with Facebook's software development kit, which can manage things like log ins, analytics and ad integration. The social network didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Spotify, Waze, Tinder and Pinterest also didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
