Ok, she is not exactly a witch, but she can control plant life, which would be great for someone like me who kills any living thing in my home. We all love a bit of sci-fi fantasy, and this is a clear case of escapism here.
3. Warrior Nun
I’m hooked on the title alone. The plot: a young woman “wakes up in a morgue with inexplicable powers and gets caught up in a battle between good and evil.” The show is based on a comic book character, and apparently the choreography is expertly done. Its popularity makes sense: without the typical summer Blockbusters playing at your local cinema, we are starved for some good ol' action content.
2. Down to Earth with Zac Efron
You thirsty devils! Of course a travel series with an often-shirtless Zac Efron—who tours the world finding healthy, sustainable ways to live—was among the highest-ranked. It’s the perfect mix of must-watch TV. It’s got celebrity eye candy, useful information, drama, and beautiful locales. It’s basically the perfect show for those experiencing serious wanderlust: we might not be able to travel the world right now, but we can watch a show that does. Plus, Zac Efron.
1. Unsolved Mysteries
And the top-viewed show goes to. . . a series that is both stressful and unsettling. Why do we do this to ourselves? Isn’t life stressful enough right now? It’s a reboot of the popular American TV series that explores unsolved murders, disappearances, or supernatural events using interviews and re-enactments. I myself am still having nightmares about the alien abduction episode. The series is a fascinating watch and the perfect before-bed show—if you don’t want to sleep because your mind is racing, that is. Still, I am not surprised by this top-ranking choice. We can’t help but be fascinated by the unknown. It’s human nature.
