RTA to increase frequency on four popular bus routes, including HealthLine, starting Sunday - cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority on Sunday will increase the frequency of buses on four popular routes, in conjunction with other routine service changes for summer.

The lines that will increase in frequency are the HealthLine along Euclid Avenue, MetroHealth Line (No. 51) along West 25th Street, the No. 1 St. Clair, and the No. 3 Superior.

The changes are intended to accommodate increases in travel as more people return to work or participate in summer activities, RTA said in a news release. RTA in April had temporarily reduced its service by 15% in response to the pandemic.

RTA’s routine summer service change also goes into effect on Sunday. New schedules can be found on RTA’s website.

Additionally, a six-week track construction project will close down light rail service on the Blue and Green Line beginning Sunday. Buses on the 67R route will replace trains east of Tower City. Riders can board on West Huron Road at West 3rd Street.

The buses will follow a special alignment during the shutdown, operating to and from Green Road via Van Aken Boulevard and Warrensville Center Road.

The buses will not stop at the East 55th Station or the Tri-C Campus District Station. Riders who want to access those areas should use the Red Line.

Regular Green and Blue Line service east of Tower City will resume Aug. 9.
