(INDIANAPOLIS) – A family holiday tradition continues at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center and it’s bigger and better than ever.
The show will feature new music, an extended route and additional light displays including a spectacular 240 ft. wall of lights, making it the largest synchronized show in Central Indiana.
This dazzling light display will be open from dusk until 10 p.m., with extended hours on the weekends, November 13, 2020 through January 3, 2021.
This family-friendly event features a 2-mile car ride through more than a million LED lights synchronized to traditional and more modern Christmas music. Visitors of all ages will be awed by the larger-than-life trees, glowing snowflakes, dancing candy canes and enchanting tunnels of lights. In the warmth of their own vehicle, guests can tune their radio dial to a dedicated signal and sing along to the sounds of the season synchronized to holiday lights.
The display will be offered rain, snow or shine every evening, including holidays. Cost is $7 per person and children 3-years-old and under are free. A “Carload Special” of up to seven passengers is just $30, 10-15 passengers is $50, 16-35 passengers is $75, and 36+ passengers is $100. To receive “Carload Special” pricing all passengers must be in one vehicle. Due to a new route this year, the height of vehicles must be NO MORE than 11 ft. tall to drive through the light display. Guests should enter the Indiana State Fairgrounds at Gate 12, 1698 E. 42nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205.
Cash and major credit cards are accepted at the gate or, for the ultimate “touchless” experience, tickets may be purchased online at https://www.christmasnightsoflights.com/indianapolis.
“We’re thrilled to return to the iconic Indiana State Fairgrounds,” said the Richie King, Titan Light Shows, Inc. “The Fairgrounds has been a popular family venue for a remarkable 127 years and we’re thrilled to work with their outstanding team again – especially given that, during these tough times, we’re able to celebrate the true spirit of the season by supporting local charities.”
The Arthritis Foundation, Toys for Tots and Gleaners Food Banks’ Pack the Pantries are among local charities to benefit from a portion of the event’s proceeds.
The holiday light show is produced by Titan Light Shows, Inc., Bluff City, Tennessee. To request an interview with Richie King: Richie@titanlightshows.com
Tips for attending Christmas Nights of Lights (sidebar)
- Avoid the lines, plan your visit early in the season or on a weekday. If you want to visit on a weekend, try arriving after 9 p.m. Any cars still in line at time of closing WILL be permitted to enter and enjoy the show.
- Make a quick stop at the portable toilets at the beginning of the show.
- Know how to turn off your headlights — Google how to do this in advance, if needed.
- Tour buses with more than a 35-person capacity or limos will not be admitted, as those vehicles are unable to drive safely through the show. Vehicles over 11’ tall will not be able to access the light show, due to height restrictions at the entrance.
