Popular Columbus shopping center stores go into lockdown after shots fired - cleveland.com

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Stores at a popular shopping center briefly went into lockdown Wednesday afternoon after shots were fired on its property, police say.

Officers working at Easton Town Center heard the gunshots at about 5 p.m. on the 4200 block of The Strand, a street that runs through the center of the shopping center, according to police. A building was hit by gunshots and shell casings were found on the ground.

Police say an unknown male opened fire at a 22-year-old male and a 19-year-old female, but no one was wounded. The suspect left the area in a silver vehicle.

Some stores went into lockdown after the shooting, but soon reopened, reports say.
