As the appetite for renewable energy grows in New Jersey, students are playing a vital role in convincing the state’s colleges and universities to commit to wind, solar and hydropower.
Last month, Stevens Institute of Technology became the first college in the state to voluntarily source 100% of its electricity from renewable sources, part of an eight-year campaign by the Hoboken-based university to reduce its carbon footprint.
