STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- They say don’t knock it until you’ve tried it, but Uber Eats customers are pushing the boundaries of that age-old saying with some of the strangest food orders you’ve ever heard.

In this year’s Uber Eats Craving Report, the company highlighted some of the most popular and most unexpected requests the company has received over the past 12 months.

With Uber Eats’ expansion into a wide range of delivery services, including groceries, flowers, alcohol and more, at a time when many Americans were still homebound by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, there were countless, unique delivery orders from all across the country.

“Over the past 12 months, our customers have relied on Uber Eats to get everything from sandwiches to sunflowers to screwdrivers — and everything in between,” according to the report.

The most popular food items ranged across various different types of cuisines, from traditional American side dishes to sushi, Indian and Thai.

The top 10 most popular orders in the United States were:

1. French Fries
2. Pad Thai
3. Garlic Naan
4. Soda
5. Miso Soup
6. California Roll
7. Chicken Tikka Masala
8. Edamame
9. Mozzarella Sticks
10. Spicy Tuna Roll

The most popular delivery requests typically involved the removal of one ingredient, the addition of condiments or the manner in which the item was prepared.

The top 10 most popular delivery requests in the United States were:

1. No Onion
2. Extra Sauce
3. No Tomato
4. No Cheese
5. No Ice
6. Spicy
7. Well Done
8. No Mushroom
9. No Pickle
10. No Sour Cream

Some food orders are almost always accompanied by what many would view as a common request, like lime for your tacos, ranch for your buffalo wings or extra salt for your French fries.

Others, however, seem to prefer more obscure food combinations that may seem a bit odd to some.

With that in mind, Uber Eats compiled a list of the strangest food and request combinations observed over the past year.

The 10 most unexpected food and request combinations were:

1. Prosciutto with pickles
2. Bell peppers with cream cheese
3. Watermelon with yellow mustard
4. Ice cream with hot sauce
5. Pizza with sauerkraut
6. Fish with mac & cheese
7. Hot dogs with peanut sauce
8. Yogurt Parfait with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos
9. Spaghetti with ketchup
10. Burgers with honey

With the company’s recent expansion into alcohol delivery, Uber Eats customers are not only ordering their meals through the platform, but also their favorite adult beverages.

The most common alcohol orders were:

1. Large margaritas
2. Tito’s vodka
3. White Claw variety packs
4. Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
5. Corona

Many users elected to have their food and drinks delivered at the same time, with the most frequently paired meal-and-beverage combos listed below.

1. Buffalo wings with a six-pack of beer
2. Three tacos with a large sangria
3. Pizza with a Mango White Claw
4. Fajita bowls with a margarita
5. Chips and salsa with a frozen daiquiri
