Predictions for 2021’s most popular baby names - AL.com

Predictions for the top baby names for 2021 are out and it looks like some top contenders are once again leading  the pack.

Liam and Olivia are predicted to be the top names for 2021, the same leaders in 2019. Official numbers for 2020 are not yet available.

Names.org uses data on actual births in recent years to make predictions on the top baby names for the current year. The formula looks at information from the Social Security Administration along with recent trends and user interest from Names.org visitors to make its predictions. Its forecasts have been pretty spot on when it comes to top names.

In both 2018 and 2019, 9 out of 10 of Name.org’s boy name predictions and 10 out of 10 girl name predictions were in the actual top 10 once the Social Security Administration’s official numbers were released.

Here are Names.org’s predictions for top 10 boys and girls names  for 2021:

Top 10 boy name predictions

1. Liam

2. Noah

3. Oliver

4. Elijah

5. Lucas

6. James

7. William

8. Benjamin

9. Henry

10. Mateo

Just outside the top 10 were Sebastian, Levi and Theodore.

Top 10 girls name predictions

1. Olivia

2. Emma

3. Amelia

4. Charlotte

5. Ava

6. Sophia

7. Isabella

8. Mia

9. Evelyn

10. Harper

Just outside the top 10 were Luna, Camila, Penelope and Aria.
