Premier Inn, a popular U.K. hotel chain, recently revealed its list of springtime’s most Instagrammable cities in the U.S. and around the world, all places we wish we could visit in person this season, and that we’re dreaming about visiting soon when it’s safe to travel again.
Here’s a look at the results for the top 10 U.S. cities to visit in spring, according to Instagram users:
1. New York, with 26,439 images under #springinnewyork
2. Seattle, with 21,096 images under #springinseattle
3. Chicago, with 19,993 images under #springinchicago
4. Boston, with 10,320 images under #springinboston
5. Portland, with 5,880 images under #springinportland
6. Oklahoma City, with 3,101 images under #springinoklahomacity
7. Denver, with 3,093 images under #springindenver
8. Miami, with 2,156 images under #springinmiami
9. Washington, DC, with 1,989 images under #springinwashington
10. San Diego, with 1,965 images under #springinsandiego
As for the 20 best cities around the world to visit in springtime, here’s what Instagram users had to say:

To get the results, the folks at Premier Inn counted the number of Instagram posts that used the hashtag #springin(name-of-city) for more than 500 cities around the world, then ranked them in numerical order.
Most of the cities that made the list are home to highly anticipated springtime cherry blossom blooms, while southern hemisphere cities like Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in Australia, which sport stunning purple jacaranda trees this time of year, also made the cut. After a long, dark winter indoors—due to the weather as much as the Covid-19 pandemic—the world is ready for a rebirth, as we look forward to a time when we can sit in the sun, bask in the glory of nature and plan our greatest adventures yet.
