The 10 Most Popular Shows On Netflix (So Far) In March - Forbes

Lots of new shows have premiered in the month of March on Netflix—but none of them have been able to keep up with Ginny & Georgia. The mother-daughter dramedy set an epic record yesterday after completing its 28th consecutive day atop the Top 10 charts (that streak has now stretched to 29 days), and none of the other programs on Netflix have come even close to matching that kind of run.

But still, the battle for second place has been fun to watch. There are lots of familiar faces on the monthly rankings, and there’s been constant movement up and down the charts from the new shows that have debuted on Netflix this month.

So which programs have been the most popular in March? Based on my points-based scoring system, these shows have stood above the rest:

  1. Ginny & Georgia - 250 points
  2. CoComelon - 165 points
  3. iCarly - 156 points
  4. The One - 111 points
  5. Behind Her Eyes - 90 points
  6. Murder Among the Mormons - 80 points
  7. Last Chance U: Basketball - 76 points
  8. Good Girls - 74 points
  9. The Lost Pirate Kingdom - 71 points
  10. Marriage or Mortgage - 45 points

Interestingly enough, not very many of the shows that were popular in March actually premiered in March—making this month one of the least successful blocks for Netflix in quite some time. The only five of the programs were new to Netflix in March: The One, Murder Among the Mormons, Last Chance U: Basketball, The Lost Pirate Kingdom and Marriage or Mortgage.

The biggest new show of March was The One, which has now spent 14 consecutive days on the Top 10 charts (with seven of those days were spent in the second-place slot). Unfortunately, 111 points is one of the lowest monthly totals for a new Netflix-produced program—ever. And while the month isn’t over, it isn’t likely that score will drift much higher.

Ginny & Georgia, which made its Netflix debut in late February, has easily been the most viral show in March. As previously stated, the program just broke Tiger King’s old record of 27 consecutive days in first place. Today, Ginny & Georgia also set a new record for the highest score in its first 30 days with 297 points. On the all-time Top 10 charts, Ginny & Georgia currently sits in 14th place.

The other two shows chasing the #1 spot in March have been CoComelon and iCarly. The ever-present CoComelon has now spent a total of 206 days on the Top 10 charts, with 80 of those days coming in 2021. Similarly, iCarly has spent all 46 of its Netflix days on the Top 10 charts this year.

On the yearly charts, CoComelon currently sits behind Bridgerton in second place, while iCarly claims the third-place spot. On the all-time Top 10 charts, CoComelon retains its hold over the #1 position with a ridiculous 1,152 points, while iCarly sits in tenth place with 325 points.
