Well, Netflix’s Top 10 feature may have just had its most exciting week yet. While there wasn’t a ton of surprises on the daily charts, we did bear witness to a new record: Ginny & Georgia spent 28 consecutive days in the first-place position (that streak is now up to 30 days, by the way), which surpassed Tiger King’s previous record of 27 days. Which means the list for the most popular Netflix shows in 2021 is shaping up to be quite interesting.
And while Ginny & Georgia moves further and further up the yearly charts, there’s plenty of other changes to track as the 2021 rankings become more and more competitive. I record that movement via my points-based scoring system, which allows me to assign points to each show based on how well they place on the Top 10 list each day.
Which brings us to the 2021 charts. As of March 20, these are the 25 most popular shows on Netflix this year (the bolded selections are newcomers to this list):
- Bridgerton - 438 points
- CoComelon - 419 points
- iCarly - 325 points
- Ginny & Georgia - 297 points
- Firefly Lane - 238 points
- Behind Her Eyes - 199 points

As you can see, there’s only one new addition to the list this week: The Lost Pirate Kingdom. The program continued an impressive showing this week, starting out in the second-place position before slowly moving further and further down the charts. At this point, The Lost Pirate Kingdom has all but dropped off the Top 10—but not before making enough of an impact to chart on the 2021 rankings.
Other than that, this week’s list is nearly identical to last week’s—albeit one big change. While one of the newcomers to last week’s list, Last Chance U: Basketball, didn’t see any movement, the other newbie, The One, rose six spots to the 14th-place position. That show has now enjoyed 15 straight days on the Top 10 list, including seven showings in the #2 slot.
While there wasn’t any significant movement at the top of the charts, the second-, third- and fourth-place shows did inch closer to catching Bridgerton in the #1 position. CoComelon added another seven showings to its record-holding 208 appearances on the Top 10 list; iCarly stretched its own Top 10 streak to 47 days while adding another 32 points to its score; and Ginny & Georgia enjoyed yet another perfect week after its 29th straight day in the first-place position.
The only casualty this week was Bling Empire, whose 49 points weren’t enough to retain its spot on the 2021 charts.
These rankings will continue to be updated weekly, so stay tuned next week to see which shows have moved up and down the list.
