If you're anything like me, online shopping has become one of your biggest hobbies these last few months (guilty as charged). After all, what else are you to do when you're spending 95% of your time at home? While many of us have probably made some questionable purchases (looking at you, 500th Blender Bottle I definitely didn't need), we've also probably made some great ones.

To help you shop smarter this month, we've analyzed our own data to find out what everyone was buying in August—and what you might want to consider adding to your own cart. Below are 10 of the most popular things people bought last month, including our favorite face mask (Athleta, FYI), Michelle Obama's viral necklace, and the loungewear everyone's obsessed with.

1. Face masks

With states reopening and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continuing to recommend that people wear cloth face coverings in public, it's no surprise that face masks once again are at the top of our most-bought list. While there are hundreds of retailers selling masks online, our experts tested some of the most popular masks and found Athleta masks to be the best in terms of breathability and comfort. Vistaprint is also one of the top-rated retailers for masks, with a wide range of prints and colors.

  • Get the Everyday Non Medical Masks 5 Pack from Athleta for $30
  • Shop Vistaprint Face Masks starting at $18

2. Michelle Obama's "V-O-T-E" necklace

With Election Day quickly approaching, many celebrities and public figures are speaking up, reminding Americans to vote. That includes Michelle Obama, who wore a "V-O-T-E" letter necklace during the Democratic National Convention in mid-August. The necklace quickly went viral and, while Michelle's exact piece is very pricey, you can find a similar one on Etsy for less than $25.

Get the Vote Letter Necklace from Etsy for $24.75

3. Dumbbells

Even though gyms are starting to reopen in many states, a lot of people are continuing to work out at home. And now, the U.S. is facing a major dumbbell shortage, as people stock up on free weights (including dumbbells, kettlebells, and barbells) for their home gyms. Fortunately, while your options are limited, there are still a few places where you can buy dumbbells online, including Amazon and Walmart.

  • Get the Cap Barbell Neoprene Coated Dumbbell Weights (10-Pound Pair) from Amazon for $55.99
  • Get the Weider Rubber Hex Dumbbell (25 Pounds) from Walmart for $25.96

4. Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switches have been hard to find ever since quarantine first started back in March. The popular game consoles continue to sell out because they're an easy source of endless entertainment and people of all ages (from kids to adults) can enjoy them. Our experts have spent the past few months tracking where you can still buy the Nintendo Switch—just keep in mind that stock is very limited so if you want one, you'll want to snag it immediately.

  • Get the Nintendo Switch Lite Bundle in Gray or Turquoise at Amazon from $359.99
  • Get the Nintendo Switch Console at Walmart for $395.48

5. Gaiters

Face masks are a must but they aren't always the most comfortable (hello, behind-the-ear pain). Many people have started looking for comfier alternatives—like gaiters, which are a tube of fabric you wear around your neck and pull up over your nose and mouth. There are a variety of fabrics and prints available, including these two that our readers have been buying: the BlackStrap tube from REI which people say is very breathable and this adjustable gaiter from Etsy which even has a filter pocket.

  • Get the BlackStrap Daily Tube Multifunctional Face Mask from REI for $19.95
  • Get the Drawstring Adjustable Neck Gaiter from Etsy for $6.71

6. Loungewear and pajamas

Comfort is key when you're working from home, socializing from home, and basically doing everything from home. That's why loungewear is such a hot buy right now. Some of our favorites? Matching sets from Richer Poorer (you'll want to live in these, trust me), this super soft "lounge dress" from bedding brand Brooklinen and the cult-favorite Moonlight pajamas from Nordstrom that sell out all the time.

  • Get the Women's Fleece Sweatpants from Richer Poorer for $72
  • Get the Morningside Dress from Brooklinen for $45
  • Get the Moonlight Pajamas from Nordstrom for $65

7. Air fryers

Many of us are cooking at home more than we used to before the pandemic. One of our readers'—and our experts'—favorite gadgets for doing so? An air fryer. Of all the ones we've tested, we found the Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer to be the best because it yields perfectly crunchy fried food (without the added fat) and has a generous capacity (perfect for feeding the whole family).

Get the Cuisinart Compact Air Fryer from Amazon for $99.95

8. Sneakers

Step aside, sandals. As we start transitioning from summer to fall, sneakers are taking over our shoe-drobes (a.k.a. our shoe wardrobes). While there are hundreds of styles and brands to choose from, some of the most popular for women include the crisp white Veja sneakers (which Meghan Markle is a huge fan of) or the classic Adidas Stan Smith sneakers (comfortable and cute at the same time!). For men, our readers are big fans of Cole Haan sneaks, especially the GrandPro Low Tops, which are both stylish and supportive.

  • Get the Veja V-10 Sneaker from Nordstrom for $150
  • Get the Adidas Stan Smith Sneakers from Amazon for $55.64
  • Get the Cole Haan GrandPro Low Top Sneaker from Nordstrom for $150

9. Nuna car seat

Listen up, parents—one of the hottest and highest-rated car seats of the year is the Nuna car seat, which sold like crazy during the big Nordstrom sale last month. It has hundreds of five-star reviews for being incredibly lightweight and comfortable and because it's easily adjustable so you can continue to use it as your child grows.

Get the Nuna PIPA™ Lite LX Infant Car Seat & Base from Nordstrom for $419.95

10. Apple AirPods

Based on how popular they've been ever since they first came out, it seems that Apple AirPods are here to stay. While we love the iconic white earbuds, our experts say that the AirPods Pro are hands-down the best headphones Apple has ever made thanks to their amazing sound quality, noise-cancellation technology, and comfortable fit.

  • Get the Apple AirPods from Amazon for $134.95
  • Get the Apple AirPods Pro from Amazon for $219.95
