The Kings Mountain Fair has been a popular part of the Bay Area’s Labor Day weekend for more than 50 years, and organizers hope it can be again this year.

With a few changes.

For one thing, the event has moved online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That means visitors won’t be able to take in (and breathe in) the lovely redwoods setting that helps make the event such a delight to the senses.

Patrick McCauley’s works will be on display at the virtual Kings Mountain Art Fair Sept. 5-7. (Kings Mountain Art Fair)

But the acclaimed artwork will still be on hand. The event is once again offering a wide range of works from Bay Area independent artists — it’s just that they will be on virtual display.

On Sept. 5-7, art lovers can access the fair’s art works online. And visitors will be able to chat live with artists on the fair’s platform and link to artists’ websites if they want to make a purchase.

One thing hasn’t changed — the event is still an important fundraiser for the Kings Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and the Kings Mountain Elementary School, and a potential book to area artists struggling from the pandemic’s safety requirements.

Details: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 5, 6 and 7; logging in is free; register and find more information at kingsmountainartfair.org.
