The Google Doodle is the animated logo that is found on the search engine's main page.

It changes daily and celebrates anniversaries, birthdays or days of note throughout history.

But for those in lockdown, by clicking on the Google Doodle you have access to the most popular Google Doodle games.

The first-ever Google Doodle was designed by co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin and honoured The Burning Man event in Nevada.

Subsequent Doodles have been designed by other people and a specific team of people called Doodlers.

By 2019, the team had created over 4,000 Doodles for Google homepages around the world.

Google said in a statement: "As Covid-19 continues to impact communities around the world, people and families everywhere are spending more time at home."

It added: "In light of this, we’re launching a throwback Doodle series looking back at some of our popular interactive Google Doodle games!"

Google will be rolling out 10 games as part of the series beginning with a coding-themed game that was initially released in 2017.

CRICKET

The game "Cricket" was originally in honour of the ICC 2017 Cricket Women’s World Cup.

It marked Google Doodle’s smallest interactive Doodle ever.

Google made it mini on purpose so that everyone could enjoy the Cricket game, even people using mobile networks that tend to be a bit slower.
