Here are the most popular TikTok dances of March, April to date - The Post

TikTok is making waves in the social media industry. Especially during the quarantine, there is almost no better way to waste time than by mindlessly scrolling through videos. One of the most popular video types on TikTok are dance challenges that circulate throughout the app. Here are some of the most popular dance challenges from around March and April:

Savage

Megan Thee Stallion blew up in the mainstream for being confident and dropping hits like “Hot Girl Summer” and “Captain Hook.” Another huge hit song of hers is “Savage,” which became a dance on TikTok thanks to Keara Wilson. The dance radiates the same star quality and confidence that the song carries, and all of the famous TikTok stars are copying this dance.

Sunday BestxDon’t Start Now

“Sunday Best” by Surfaces and “Don’t Start Now” by Dua Lipa are two uplifting and fun songs to listen to. However, both are so different. This is why it seemed to be such a huge surprise that the two were mashed up by goalsounds. Everyone quickly jumped on the opportunity to show off their moves to the sound. One of the best versions of it features one of the most popular TikTokkers, Charli D’Amelio.

Funky Town

“Funky Town” is a song that’s been around for quite a while. The cover by The Dance Queen Group of Lipps Inc.’s song has been quite popular since its release in 2007, and TikTok recognizes that, too. The dance is just as funky as the song, and this video features Asad Motawh.

Over it Chinese New Year Remix

The original sound by Johhny G and kingvader remixes “chinese new year” by SALES. The song is not only a dance challenge, but it also became a huge meme with people talking about “baby” culture and being “shy.” This TikTok comes from two of the members of The Hype House, one of the biggest groups of those on the platform.

Supalonely

“Supalonely” is a song by BENEE featuring Gus Dapperton. It gained most of its fame by becoming a TikTok dance and is one of the dances on the app that is an actual dance rather than a meme. The dance was created by zoifishh, a TikTokker who isn’t known for her dances but still gained popularity through this one.

Can’t take big d---

This song is on the more scandalous side, featuring the “Sex Talk” remix by iprayzi. Even people like Brittany Broski, aka the Kombucha girl who is famous for her comedic videos, have done the dance on TikTok. It’s extremely popular among everyone on the app, and this video shows one of the most popular TikTokkers, Addison Rae, doing the dance in public while accidentally throwing her butt at a grandpa.

#hiteverybeat

When most people think of dancing to the song “Can’t Touch This,” they think of MC Hammer and his signature Hammertime dance. Though this dance isn’t very complicated, essentially just mimicking the Macarena and hitting the woah at the end, it’s still fun to see. The fast paced dance is shown here by Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown.

2liveSoundsmix(Throw that a-- back)

This song is a TikTok sound and features Squidward’s voice from Spongebob Squarepants as well as transitioning between sounds really quickly. This dance was another one done multiple times by almost all of the TikTokkers, but this one features the queen, Sarah Magusara.

Cannibal

Ke$ha’s songs never go out of style, and this is proven by the fact that her 2010 hit “Cannibal” is currently trending on TikTok. The dance is pretty fun and literal to the words, and this video features another popular dancer on TikTok, Lexi Rivera.

Captain Hook

Megan Thee Stallion is back with another dance hit on TikTok. “Captain Hook” radiates all of the same energy that Megan brings to every single one of her tracks, and this dance is no different. Though it contains some of the typical TikTok moves, it’s still really fun to do and watch. This video features popular YouTuber Emma Chamberlain, as she ironically learns TikTok dances and actually does them to a T.

WALKED IN

This song was one of the earliest in March, but it also was one of the most famous dances so far. This quickly made its way through the dance challenge circuit, but people are still making videos to the sound. “Walked In” by Ultradiox is an iconic song with a great beat, so it’s only fitting that one of the most iconic artists is dancing to it: Jason Derulo.
