Amazon Prime’s recent hit animated series Invincible which has been a massive success with both the critics and the fans alike still holds its position as the most popular show on Rotten Tomatoes weeks after it first aired.
Invincible is also the most popular certified series on the famous review aggregate website with a score of 98% by a total of 56 top critics reviews. Invincible also holds an audience score of 91%, further proving the show’s popularity between both the fans and the critics. Invincible is currently more popular in Rotten Tomatoes than both Netflix’s fellow superhero show Jupiter’s Legacy, which is rotten at 36%, and Shadow and Bone, which is certified fresh at 86%.
The show has been garnering more and more traction from people all over the world especially by the fans of the superhero genre even more so now that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has ended and Superman & Lois remains on a break with a good month to go before Marvel’s next hotly anticipated series, Loki.
The animated series which stars The Walking Dead alum Steven Yeun in its titular role alongside the likes of J.K. Simmons, Mark Hamill, Zachary Quinto, and Sandra Oh has been continuously praised for its gory action, smooth animation, stellar voice acting as well as its nuance and refreshing take on the genre by everyone.
Invincible has already been renewed for two more seasons.
Polygon has praised the show for its ability to pack up enough content worthy of earning its 45 minutes runtime for every single one of the episodes while Vulture and Jeremy Jahns both praised the show for its familiarity which makes the audience relate to it easily and its attempt to subvert archetypes within the show. Thrillist also loved the dark approach it has taken and called it a darker version of Spider-Man suitable to today’s times.
Invincible is slowly developing a fanbase of its own just like the first superhero smash hit by Amazon, The Boys. The show currently has an 8.8 in IMDb and has one of the highest-rated pilots in IMDb’s history.
It’s notable that Invincible aired its last episode of the season two weeks ago and has already been renewed for additional two seasons by the streaming service.
