Israel’s Popular, Instagrammable Gelato Shop Anita Is Coming to New York City - Eater NY

An over-the-top Israeli gelato maker is headed uptown for its first U.S. location

One of Israel’s most popular gelato and yogurt makers is planning to open its first U.S. outpost on the Upper East Side this spring. Among other things, Anita Gelato is known for serving an incredibly Instagrammable gelato, served out of a display case that might remind New Yorkers of those sweet cream cheese flavors that are topped with syrups, cookies, and nuts at Manhattan bagel shops. The hand-made gelato maker, which will also offers yogurt, waffles, and homemade toppings, is planning to open this April at 1561 Second Avenue, at East 81st Street.

Anita Gelato was started as a small Tel Aviv storefront by Nir and Adi Avital, and their mother, Anita, in 2002. Close to 20 years later, the gelato mini-chain now has seven locations globally, four in Tel Aviv and another three in Sydney, Australia. Anita’s storefront on East 81st is the gelato maker’s first location in the U.S. and for the occasion the owners are planning to bring their best sellers from abroad, like tiramisu, popcorn with honey, and something called the Cookieman, a decadent gelato made from hazelnut, meringue, caramel, mascarpone, and Campari. The gelato maker claims that the Upper East Side location will have 150 different flavors in total, including a few originals to be announced closer to opening.

  1. According to Stanford Medical, It's indeed the one and ONLY reason women in this country get to live 10 years longer and weigh an average of 42 lbs less than we do.

(And by the way, it is not related to genetics or some secret diet and absolutely EVERYTHING about "how" they are eating.)

P.S, I said "HOW", not "WHAT"...
