Gunfire erupted early Saturday in a popular Tuscaloosa entertainment district, wounding at least five people.
The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. in the Temerson Square of downtown Tuscaloosa. Authorities said police were called to the area in the 2300 block of Fourth Street.
Spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor said shots were fired in the parking lot and outside of Roxy’s Nightclub, with at least five people injured. They were transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, some by private vehicle. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
Multiple suspects have been detained and were still being questioned as of 5 a.m. No additional information has yet been released.
A shooting in Temerson Square in 2012 left at least 17 people wounded when a man opened fire at Copper Top Bar.
