WALLINGFORD, CT — Calcagni Real Estate is relocating its Wallingford office to a portion of the Gaetano's Tavern on Main restaurant on North Main Street, the company announced this week.
Calcagni plans to repurpose a portion of the space occupied by Gaetano's and open the office "by the end of the first quarter of 2021," according to a news release. Officials said the move comes as the company "expanded its footprint" over the last year by hiring new team members and finishing 2020 with a record number of home sales.
"We are so excited to bring Calcagni's commitment to the community to downtown Wallingford," Calcagni President Antonio Liguori said in an announcement on the company's website. "Moving to North Main Street will allow a new level of accessibility for our clients and other residents of Wallingford. Being in such a walkable location means we can provide the stellar level of service people have come to expect from Calcagni in fresh and meaningful ways."
Calcagni will be building out first-floor access for its office space in part of what is now Gaetano's Tavern on Main, along with full office space on the second floor.
"We want this space to truly be a part of what makes historical Wallingford so charming," Liguori said. "As such, we'll have seating areas outside where people can relax and enjoy North Main Street, free WiFi for anyone who needs it, and our doors will be open to the public to help them navigate their real estate needs with the marketing and tech acuity for which we're known."
The Meriden Record-Journal reports the office will be where Gaetano's banquet room is currently located.
Calcagni's plans call for the first floor to be an open concept, anchored by a 16-person table donated by Choate Rosemary Hall to "invite collaboration between real estate agents or members of the public."
The first-floor space will also have barstool seating for agents or clients who want to "plug in their laptops and work while they're in the center of town, an espresso machine for an afternoon pick-me up and conference rooms fully equipped with TVs and streaming services for meetings, live contract review and signings and in-person closings," according to the news release.
The second floor will include a new media and training room.
"Surrounded by a combination of flexible drop zones for agents to work in and additional corporate offices, the media and training room will comfortably hold 30-40 people and will be outfitted with state-of-the-art technology including cameras, a green screen, lighting and microphones for Calcagni agents to best market their clients' properties," the news release states.
Calcagni plans to open the media room up to community members as a place to hold meetings or classes.
"Whether you're part of the Wallingford Youth Soccer League or you're a local business holding licensing renewal classes for your electricians, our doors are open to you," Liguori said.
The room will be a flexible space, able to be divided up to meet the needs of those seeking its use, according to Liguori.
Gaetano's co-owner Debbie Pacileo told the Meriden Record-Journal that a new landlord wanted to open a second storefront in the banquet room's space. Pacileo said she agreed to give up the space in exchange for assistance in renovating the rest of the restaurant, according to the Record-Journal.
