Portland Ranked Most Popular City for Vegans in 2020
The site ChefsPencil has ranked Portland the most popular city for vegans worldwide, based on Google search data in 2020. Although the city searched for terms like “vegan recipes” and specific vegan foods, the actual number of searches for “vegan restaurants” dropped over the last year. The United Kingdom was the country with the highest vegan search ranking; the United States as a whole lands at 12th place, with Oregon considered the state with the highest vegan search ranking. The NBA Has Not Approved Any Portland Restaurants for After-Game Meals
The NBA has quite a few rules of conduct for players during the pandemic; one of those rules is that players can only dine onsite at restaurants approved by the NBA. The criteria for which restaurants make that list includes a number of specific factors, including masked servers, outdoor dining rooms or private rooms that don’t share “air space” with the rest of the restaurant, and a “secure entrance and exit path to limit exposure to the restaurant staff and other diners.” Last week, the association released a list of NBA-approved restaurants; none from Portland appeared on the list. Restaurants from cities like Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, and San Francisco also failed to make the cut. Fortunately, those players can still get takeout from restaurants throughout the city.
