Retailers such as Amazon, Coach and Best Buy already have launched extremely early holiday sales, and now we may know why.
An energy crisis in China and Europe has disrupted the supply chain, interfering with the shipment of orders through ship ports, according to a report by CNBC.
Top companies have issued warnings about supply chain disruptions as well. Just last month, leading toy brands including Hasbro, Mattel and MGA Entertainment warned parents to get holiday shopping done early with inflated prices and shipping delays on the rise due to supply chain issues.
Along with toys, the electronics industry also may be affected during the holiday season, along with Christmas decorations and food. Several factories in China responsible for the production of Apple products already have been suspended, which will likely lead to inflation, according to the CNBC report.
